Talk: Lash Objects Together (Cordage)

Purpose

Discussion for improving the lashing article (tension technique, wrap counts for different jobs, and hafting-specific guidance).

Open questions

• Should hafting (blade-to-handle) get its own article once stone axes/adzes exist, with this article covering only the general technique?
• Are 8–12 wraps the right default across cord thicknesses, or should the guidance scale with cord diameter?

Proposed improvements

• Add a wrap-count table by job (gorge tie, sinker, handle, cross-lashing).
• Add a diagram panel for frapping turns on a cross-lashing.

Decisions

• Lashing is a separate article from knots; it links to two half-hitches for the lock rather than re-teaching it.
